Hi everyone,
In today’s blog post, we will be continuing our discussion of the causes of adolescent sleep deprivation with tips for how to overcome them.
In addition to social media and homework causing many are sleep deprived. There are also instances and stresses in life that can also cause sleep deprivation.
For example, social stresses are often a large cause of sleep deprivation as people become anxious and worry about them when it comes time to sleep. Often, when we decide to go to sleep, we reflect on the day’s occurrences. However if stress has become a part of your day, it will inevitably become a part of your thought process as you try to fall asleep. Here are some tips on how to overcome these stresses:

Clear Your Mind
Count Sheep
Think of Nature
Reflect on a Fond Memory
It is up to you to shift your focus and train of thought. Practicing mindfulness and techniques to change your mind will prove to help you as you try to fall asleep. Another factor that may affect your ability to fall asleep is an uncomfortable sleeping environment. Fortunately, if you can identify the factors that may be causing your poor sleep environment, you can work to eliminate those distractions.
